Start2Kick (3-4 years old)

Start2Kick is Hudson United’s soccer readiness program for boys and girls ages 3-4 years old. This program includes age appropriate activities that emphasize the fundamental movement skills needed to play soccer. Our program was developed using several current youth soccer models including the US Youth Soccer Association model and the Ontario Soccer Association model. Our main goal for this age group is to have fun! Expect a high energy environment that includes lots of imagination and celebrations.

The Start2Kick program is based on a foundation of movement skills that will help the young player become ready to play the game of soccer. Here are the foundation skills we will work on during the Start2Kick training sessions:

Physical: Running, jumping, hopping and skipping, turning, twisting.
Ball familiarization: Dribbling a ball, running with a ball, turning with a ball, kicking a ball
Social: Listening, communication with adults and other players
Psychological: Self confidence, self motivation

Format:  (30) minutes on Saturday mornings.  Outdoor Soccer is available from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM. Indoor Soccer is also available from 9:00 AM-9:30 AM.

This is a little soccer player with a big soccer friend program. Each Start2Kick player needs to bring a big soccer friend to play with them each week. A big soccer friend can be any important adult in the little soccer player’s life- parent, grandparent, guardian, aunt, uncle etc. No soccer experience needed for our big soccer friends!

Coaching:  All sessions are lead by our Start2Kick Director, Kristy Hunt. Coach Kristy has a BS in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and is presently a Head Start mentor/educational coach supporting preschool teachers. She has 16 years of recreational soccer coaching experience. She has been playing soccer for 25+ years.

Player Developmental TrackStart2Kick is the first level of our developmental track. Since all children develop at their own rate, most 3 year old children and some young 4 year old children will enjoy this program.  Coach Kristy will determine if a player is ready to move to the next level, Learn2Play.
